"Light & Shade" by Magazine Gap (Rock Artist from England)

The fabulous group, Magazine Gap, and their debut album, "Light & Shade," will mesmerize you with their outstanding collection of Pop/Rock music. This terrific album is a compilation of music that was recorded in London as well as during their two U.S. tours. Magazine Gap has a magnetic originality and creativeness in which they employ easy flowing musical styles within their artistic arrangements. The charismatic vocals have a captivating appeal while they use a colorful mix of instrumentation throughout the album. Opening up the album, "It's All Good," has an engaging vibe as the laid back vocals grooves around the punchy bass line and dynamic piano chords. The song, "Something To Be said," is infused with soothing instrumentation that melds with the thought provoking vocals. "Our Last Stand," is another song that has an irresistible melody and vocals that deliver passionate lyrics. If you are a fan of the Dave Matthews band, then you will really enjoy the excellent Pop/Rock songs on the superb CD, "Light & Shade."

"On Safari" by Marshmellow Overcoat (Rock Artist from Pennsylvania)

The Rock group, Marshmellow Overcoat, releases their second excellent album, "On Safari." This CD is composed of well crafted songs reminiscent of the '60's with an easy listening style and terrific vocals. Opening up the album, "Over Me," moves with a nice beat and catches your attention with solid vocals and impressive harmonies. "Nothing's Ever Been the Same," is another song with wonderful vocals that rock to the smooth rhythm of the guitars and drums. When you hear the song, "Another Way to Hide," you will be taken back to a time when music was simplistic and grooved with a fun, free flowing style. This band is fantastic with their musical style of the 1960's as they revive a style of music from the past with songs that are original and melodic. If you are a huge Beatles fan, then the superb album, "On Safari," is one you will really enjoy as it is nostalgic throwback to the great music of the '60's.

"Inventions" by Kris Becker (Rock Artist from Houston, TX)

Kris Becker and his debut album, "Inventions," is an exquisite collection of finely crafted compositions featuring the genres of Rock, Jazz, and Classical. Becker creates an album that is rich in musical style and shows his superb versatility in performing a collective mix of music. He is brilliant on the piano and this album is proof of his amazing talents. The first two tracks, "Feel The Truth" and "Try" groove with a solid foundation as these songs dive right into the Rock mode with terrific melodies and charming rhythms. Tracks 3 and 4, "In Due Time" and "If Ever Two Were One (Alt. Take)" offer some spectacular Jazz with crisp and bright horns that playfully cascade around the bright and colorful piano and soulful vocals that captures the essence of the sweet lyrics. Becker then takes you into his classical skills with dexterity and intense precision. "Fanfare For Life" will astonish you as Becker plays his original Classical piece with a rich musical complexity. Becker's Classical compositions are elegant and bursting with passion and rich embellishments as he performs with strong and strict timing and these compositions should be regarded as among the best. If you are a person who enjoys an album with a marvelous blend of Rock, Jazz, and Classical, then the distinctive album "Inventions," is just what you need to listen to.

"Infamy & Misfortune" by The Last Chill (Rock Artist from Australia)

The Last Chill and their excellent album, "Infamy & Misfortune," impresses with their wonderful mix of rootsy and melodic Rock music. This album has some great vocals that are complemented by slide guitar, bass, mandolin, and Blues harp. The Last Chill is a group that has a great sound that is well balanced, excellent harmonies, and a nice dynamic appeal. You will like how they mix up the instruments on each song giving this album a nice selection of music. As you listen to the song, "Beauty In the Blue," one can feel the emotive vocals as the instruments keeps the rhythm moving with a free flowing style. The somber strings on the song, "The Killing Fields," blend with the stirring lyrics to create a song that is strong and powerful. "I've Only Stumbled" is a song that has a bouncy beat and is vibrant and energetic. If you are an avid fan of Tom Petty or Pearl Jam then you will really enjoy the collection of songs on the fantastic album "Infamy & Misfortune."
