"Each Lifetime Is A Voyage" by Howce Clemens (Rock/Pop Artist from New York City, New York (NY))

Howce Clemens brilliantly fuses the sounds of pop, rock, and R&B on his new EP, titled "Each Lifetime Is A Voyage." Clemens' voice throughout the entire album has a musky Johnny Cash vibe to it. That country vocal tone shines through on numbers like "Please Take Care" and "Little Darlin'." Taking a nod from another rocker band fused with country, the Eagles, Clemens delivers a wonderful piece of music with the title track, "Each Lifetime Is a Voyage." The vocal harmonies in the chorus and complementing instrumentation give this track a happy, lighthearted feel. Howce Clemens' "Each Lifetime Is a Voyage" is a great album for any Johnny Cash or Eagles fan looking for a new and fantastic set of tunes.

"Whitelite Britelite" by Auradrone (Electronica Artist from Los Angeles, California(CA))

Imagine if the members of The Cure decided to replace lead singer Robert Smith with a sexy female vocalist. If you can't, then perhaps listening to "Whitelite Britelite" by Auradrone will help you see the big picture. Hailing from Los Angeles, the band is fronted by the very talented Jon Mack. Her vocals are filled with tasty lyrics and sex appeal to the max. Just give a good listen to songs like "Auto Erotic" and "A Channel," and listeners will be able to hear her vocals at their best. The band is also very good and is great at changing the style of songs while still keeping that "Auradrone" sound throughout it all. "Indigo Child" is both classic 80's and super erotic at the same time, so be sure to give that track a few spins. If you love The Cure or the sound they represent, give Auradrone's "Whitelite Britelite" a good listen.

"A Heaping Helping Of Perspective" by The Conniption Fits (Pop Artist from Vermont(VT))

Boston rockers The Conniption Fits give a solid performance on their long awaited album of new material with "A Heaping Helping Of Perspective." Hailing from New England, they carry with them the rock sound that many Boston-based bands are known for (which is something mixed between The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Blink-182). Front man Steve Blanchard leads the band through rousing numbers such as "Now I Take My Leave" and "Grit Your Teeth." One of the tracks that stands out the most was "She Just Needs To Go Away," an obvious nod to the late 70's sounds of Cheap Trick. Blanchard has opened for many well-known acts like 3 Doors Down, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and Blue Oyster Cult and it shows, as he and the band's maturity and knowledge really help make this album something special. The Conniption Fits' "A Heaping Helping Of Perspective" is a great addition to any fan that enjoys the work of Jimmy Eat World or the Boston music scene.

"Back to Basics 2009 Remix" by Finlay Morton (Rock Artist from The United Kingdom)

Finlay Morton takes a crop of classic rock influences and fuses them together with some country, resulting in a fine album called "Back to Basics 2009 Remix." Morton's songwriting is very similar to that of Tom Petty, with Americana flowing throughout the album and the sound of an organ whirling about. This influence is most evident on songs like "Hang On To Your Dreams" and "My Friend". The best attribute about Morton is his silky rock voice, emulating the more recent vocal tones of Pink Floyd's Roger Waters. Give "Scary Monsters" a good listen and you will hear those vocal tones similar to Waters'. There is also some nice country lap steel work on the song "Back To The Start". If you own Petty's "Wild Flowers" album or anything put out recently by Neil Young, you will love Finlay Morton's "Back to Basics 2009 Remix."

"The Temple of Humanity" by Freestone (Rock Artist from The Netherlands)

Looking for something new and different? Then you should give a listen to the album "The Temple of Humanity" by pop/rock band Freestone. This band emulates the cosmic tones familiarized by Pink Floyd and does a great job at reproducing those sounds. "The Ancient of Days" is a mellow song, featuring talented saxophone playing that makes the instrument sound almost as if it is singing. The title track exhibits a relaxing drum beat and equally soothing vocals. The instrumentation on this disc drips of Pink Floyd, with lush synth melodies and haunting guitar work. Although the material of Freestone's "The Temple of Humanity" is rare compared to what is "standard" today, it is a great listen for any Pink Floyd fan or ancient ritual buff and should definitely be checked out.

"Moontime" by Kelly Moon McGinnis (Rock Artist from Colorado(CO))

Colorado-based songwriter Kelly Moon McGinnis delivers a one-two punch of blues and rock on his latest effort, "Moontime." McGinnis is a well-known staple in the Denver area and has opened for famed acts such as Big Head Todd & the Monsters and Leon Redbone. The most likeable thing about this album is McGinnis's vocals and the way in which he delivers them. In "Your Wishing Well," listeners get to hear his gritty singing voice, very similar to that of Tom Waits or Bob Dylan. McGinnis's songwriting also stays true to the blues roots and features some exciting guitar work as well. Another standout track is "God Is Love," which has a tropical feel to it and is very reminiscent of late 70's George Harrison work. This album is a must-have for any Waits fan or anyone who loves that nitty-gritty blues sound.

"Organic" by B. Keyler (Rock Artist from Norway)

B. Keyler's latest album, titled "Organic," is a wonderful blend of moving adult contemporary ballads and avant-garde rock. Keyler's lush voice gets all kind of action with ranges from lounge jazz (like in "The Sweetest Kiss") to hard rock (such as "Seven Stars"). The ballad "When You're Gone" is a very sentimental piece and also features another classic vocal track from Keyler. For something a little different, check out the opening track titled "Freaky Moments," a song which will have you singing along during and after hearing it. The title track rocks the hardest and, like "Freaky Moments," will have you singing along. B. Keyler's "Organic" is a great listen for anyone who enjoys listening to Liz Phair or adult pop/rock that strays just a bit from the norm.

"Drives It Home" by Gregg Koval (Rock Artist from Canada)

Gregg Koval has blasted out another great rock CD "Drives It Home." Packed with edgy, guitar driven rock and funky blues, Koval keeps the beat moving and grooving. His vocals are right on the mark and capture the essence of this style of music. "Plenty Enough to Go Around" and "Take What You Need" equally show off the funky and bluesy side of this album. There is also a nice melodic guitar riff on "Wasting the Day Away", with its catchy rhythmic run. Koval has a special talent for making his lyrics fun, as is heard on the song "Alien To Me." Fans of Joe Walsh will definitely appreciate "Drives It Home", a fun CD with energetic rock tunes and rock solid guitar solos.

"Rockin Blues" by Ramblin Dogs (Blues Artist from New Jersey(NJ))

The Ramblin Dogs energetic three song EP "Rockin Blues," is full of classic 70's/80's blues tone we all love and remember. The first single, "Steppin Up" is a wonderful throw back to the sound of the Fabulous Thunderbirds with some dirty guitar work by Carlos "C-Dawg" DC. "You Let Me Down" also showcases "C-Dawg's" Clapton infused playing and lets us hear the band jam out some soulful, slow tempo blues. Closing out the three single EP is "Worse Without You," a Chicago style blues number with solid chord progressions and guitar driven riffs and solo. The band as a whole is extremely talented, but Carlos' guitar skills stand out amongst anything else on this disc and deserve to be noticed. If you like Clapton or that old school Chicago blues sound, then "Rockin Blues" is a great CD to add to your collection.

"Imposi-bull" by Infinite Tone (Rock Artist from Quebec, Canada)

With their debut release of "Impossi-bull," rock band Infinite Tone has compiled a collection of powerhouse rock songs. Reminiscent of '80's head-banger music, Infinite Tone centers their sound around big guitars and melodic vocals. The lyrics are well-written and are sung with confident and crisp vocals. The keyboards also play an immense part in this group's sound. Take note of the Hammond B-3 organ sound on the solo of "Burn!" or the chord stabs on the title track "Impossi-bull." Listeners will be able to notice the diversity in the tempos in "Picture of You" and "In My Eyes," which are slow rock ballads driven by power chords on guitar. If you're a fan of Guns N' Roses or AC/DC you will thoroughly enjoy listening to the edgy hard rock tunes on the Infinite Tones' album "Impossi-bull."

"The Value of Power" by Elliot Matsu (Rock Artist from New York City, New York (NY))

Elliot Matsu's newly released album "The Value of Power" is packed with alternative rock/pop music. Matsu is a gifted musician who has a talent for writing thoughtful and sincere lyrics. His vocals are crisp and polished with a soft tonality. The album has a high-quality production, as there is a dynamic balance between the vocals and instruments. This album in general has an overall happy sort of feel about it. "Takin the Train" is an easy listening pleasure with pleasant bluesy guitar riffs fused with subtle keys. "Who Am I" has a piano driven intro and peaks out with guitar power chords on the chorus. Elliot Matsu's "The Value of Power" is an enjoyable album and a great treasure to add to your music collection.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Brother Todd with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Oneman"

RadioIndy is pleased to present Brother Todd with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Oneman"

"Oneman" is the appropriately titled new release from Michigan based one-man-band Todd Bendler, also known as "Brother Todd." His humble, haunting vocal style lingers in the lower register, giving this album a deep, dark and unique quality. His storytelling lyrics are thought provoking, inspirational, and at times humorous, giving the listener a distinct look into his personality. The entire album is written and produced by Todd, composing the songs on the piano and guitar and then adding the vocals, drum parts and additional parts if needed. Todd also plays all the instruments on each track apart from "You Lift Me Up" and "Gunslinger," where Guy Hedrick plays lead guitar. His music is honest and uplifting with many lyrics about the struggles of everyday life, where Todd offers inspiration. Listen to the heartening "You Lift Me Up" and moving "Dance My Dance." "I'm Feeling Fine" and "I Can't Sing the Blues" are of a more playful, lighthearted nature, with Todd showing his humorous side. Fans of inspirational and contemplative rock should definitely check out Brother Todd's "Oneman."

RadioIndy is pleased to present Every Smith Ever with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Every Smith Ever "

RadioIndy is pleased to present Every Smith Ever with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Every Smith Ever "

"Every Smith Ever" is the self-titled release from the group composed of vocalist/guitarist Chris Moulton and the beatmaker/producer known as Elsworth. This duo delves into many styles and textures with their highly experimental blend of soul, rock and hip hop. "I Would and We Did" is a strong opener, playing to the strengths of each member of the duo. Moulton's vocals soar and are delivered with emotion. The inventive programming of Elsworth is also on full display with an intricate, shuffling groove providing the pulse. "Kansas" is a raw, funky track with a heavy backbeat over densely layered vocals and a sparse piano motif. "What!" and "Scaring Grampy" feature a hypnotic, slow groove coupled with daunting, melodic vocals. "The Ballad of Dead Young Men" is a stylish, melodic track that features march-like sections and well-delivered vocal harmonies. The unnerving "Confession Breath" is of a more experimental nature, with Elsworth bending pitches and a chilling vocal performance by Moulton. The self-titled "Every Smith Ever" delivers soul, rock, and hip hop with an experimental character, spanning the range of moods, textures, and feels of their sound.

"Men and Flies" by Martin Hagfor (Rock Artist from Norway)

"Men and Flies" Martin Hagfors latest effort, is Indie songwriting at its finest. Hagfors does a fantastic job with this record both in his eloquent lyrics and in the choice instrumentation on every song. The first track off the album, "Appetite" features a beautiful staccato string arrangement and a vocal approach similar to the Indie master himself, Elliot Smith. Another great selection on "Men and Flies" is the song "Tattooed on My Eyes." This song has that element of fusing both old and new rock sounds with an end result of something between The Band and Ryan Adams. Hagfors really does an outstanding job on this CD and is a real hidden gem amongst his musical peers.

"Calcutta Boy" by Rhett May (Pop Artist from Australia)

Rhett May and his latest released CD "Calcutta Boy" gives the music listening world just a tasty hint of what he has to offer. The Australian native, who has opened shows for bands as big as Queen, wrote and recorded his latest disc at his home studio. His sound is hard to define as these four selections all feature a wide variety of influences, but it all molds together for a great album. "Little White Powder Under Your Nose" is a harmonious arrangement with impressive and well written lyrics about cocaine use. His experiences touring takes an evident role in the song "Have Your Arms Been Missing Me" with its lush Freddie Mercury type vocals and melody. Overall, "Calcutta Boy" is a good album and listeners will be looking forward to hearing his full length album.

"Many Years" by Tom Richey (Rock Artist from Tennessee(TN))

Tom Richey's "Many Years" is a neat throwback to classic rock bands of the '60's and '70's. The disc is a collection of Richey's musical writings and claims it to be his best work over a 14 year span of songwriting. "In Here" a finely tuned acoustic track ignites the sounds of early Grateful Dead and shows off Richey's guitar skills. His Pink Floyd influence shows its face in "Many Years" with a classic synth string section and typical Roger Waters style verses. Richey's compilation of his "greatest hits" is a well chosen collection of stripped down classic rock anthems.

"No. 3" by Copper Vein Records (Rock Artist from Michigan(MI))

Copper Vein Record's recent compilation, "No. 3", is an outstanding mix of what the label has to offer. The album is filled with the sounds of new and old and tracks of eclectic styles, including a number of tracks based around acoustic country rock. "Bloom on the Sage" by Mike LaBeau, is one of our favorite songs on the album and hits you with that Rolling Stones (a la 1964) tone. LaBeau's vocals are just as gritty and memorable as Mick Jagger's ever were. For that country feel, look no further than "Dizzy Melissa" by Keith Rintala. His songwriting and instrumentation stands out on this featured number and makes us want to hear more from this artist. Another highlight track is Music Sunday, featuring the powerful voice of Rachael Davis. "No. 3" is great for anyone who loves a CD with a refreshing variety of sounds that feature talented artists from Michigan.

"Clear Blue Sky" by Steve Jones (Pop Artist from British Columbia, Canada)

Steve Jones releases another great album, titled "Clear Blue Sky," packed with well-crafted, original classic rock songs. The vocals are smooth and relaxed on these sharp and flowing singles. Dishing up a bouncy beat, "Empty Promises" has energetic lyrics, while "Us" is slightly slower in speed but delivers wonderful harmonies. The album clearly has a high-quality production, as listeners will be able to hear the dynamic balance between vocals and instruments. A good example of this well-constructed mix is "Comes As No Surprise" and "She Said Yes" as the guitar serves up sweet licks while vocals are clean and crisp. Fans of Pink Floyd or Electric Light Orchestra won't be disappointed when listening to Steve Jones' "Clear Blue Sky," as it is filled with creative melodies and vivacious beats.

"MPH" by The Yohawks (Pop Artist from Ontario, Canada)

"MPH" by The Yohawks is a terrific throwback to the 60's R&B with a touch of smooth rock. As a band, their sound is extremely tight and features a strong and well balanced brass section, an element very much missing in current bands. In addition to The Yohawks musicianship, their Motown influenced vocal melodies really shine on this disc and add that distinct "Detroit sound" to "MPH." Stand out songs like "Never Let Go" and "She's Gone" makes the best connection to that familiar 60's R&B sound we all know and love. At first listen "Never Let Go" sounds reminiscent of the group Chicago and the horn section compliments the polished and mature vocals quite well. "She's Gone" is a catchy tune with lyrics that may make you think of a lady you once let get away. Anyone who is a follower of Otis Redding or Chicago will very much enjoy this CD. The sound quality is very professional and evokes those classic tones that we all want to hear back in the mainstream radio days.

If you have been craving some country rooted rock these days then "Dust In Your Hands" by Tom Hood and The Trailmen might be right up your alley. Their lineup of songs sets them apart from most rock acts with the addition of fiddle and mandolin both of which are well blended in the mix. Hood takes on the song "Caught In The Rain" with a very inspired Johnny Cash influence making for a great crossover tune. One of the standout tracks is "Back To The Baja" which features some nice lead guitar work and a bouncy groove that could be heard on any Jimmy Buffett or Traveling Wilburys album. Don't expect any classic style cowboy tunes on "Dust In Your Hands" because it's sheer rock/country entertainment.
