"Millennial Sequence: Jailbreak!" by Tom Lucas (Rock Artist from New York(NY))

Tom Lucas' long-awaited 3rd album(packaging of this CD is available in English, French and German), "Millennial Sequence: Jailbreak!," finds the singer-songwriter returning to the scene after a too-long, 25-year hiatus. With a style that's been referred to as Psych / Folk Rock (but perhaps more closely approximated mid-'70's, NY-centric Punk / New Wave 'artistes', such as Patti Smith, Richard Hell or Lou Reed), Lucas reached legendary status with 2 albums that now command hefty collector's prices for their rarity and uniqueness. His new CD, "Millennial Sequence: Jailbreak!" - while more expansive than his earlier albums (3 songs clock in at over 6 minutes in length), bears the same trademark idiosyncratic – but completely accessible, piano-based pop-rock songs. CD-opener, "Out of Jail," is a well-crafted David Bowie-meets-Leonard Cohen ballad, both urbane and autumnal in its wistfulness, while "Paris of My Heart (Paris de mon Coeur)," with Lucas crooning in a wide-eyed David Byrne-like wonderment, is an impressive 8-minute-plus epic. Other highlights include the soulfully infectious "Nothing But Joy," with Lucas backed by what sounds like a rag-tag street chorus, and the ethereal "Birds of Prey," which takes the singer full-circle, invoking the above-mentioned Patti Smith in its quiet intensity. Twenty-five years in the making, Tom Lucas' new CD, "Millennial Sequence: Jailbreak!," is just in time to re-introduce the enigmatic artist to listeners who would rather forego formulaic pop for genuine and uncompromising - if rough-around-the-edges, artistry.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Pixilated Theory with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Top Secret "

RadioIndy is pleased to present Pixilated Theory with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Top Secret "

Step into a dominion of artistic Experimental synth Pop/Rock music as Pixilated Theory's imagination runs wild on their recent album, "Top Secret." Pixilated Theory, which is comprised of two outstanding musicians, Jonathan Hall and Michael Hall, powers this fourteen track album with sometimes strange and mystifying tonality. Even as you browse through the song titles, each one produces images of space age mystery. Setting the tone for the album, "SETI Communication" stirs eerie visions as a synthesized, child- like voice penetrates deftly over the chilling sound effects. The cryptic poetry on "White Walls" easily spins around the creepy synth sounds. Displaying a softer pop style, "Angel of this World" is sweet and tender with thoughtful vocals and lyrics. If you're a fan of the groups Depeche Mode or Pet Shop Boys, you will surely want to hear the inventive mixture of experimental music on the CD, "Top Secret."

RadioIndy is pleased to present Joe Colledge with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Out of the Blue "

An excellent blend of Alternative Rock and light Pop awaits you as Joe Colledge releases his second album, "Out of the Blue." The energy and enthusiasm on this album is refreshing and renders the listener wanting to hear more of these enjoyable, melodic songs. Colledge and his talented group of musicians prove their abilities to be focused artists with a well rehearsed dynamic balance. The soft rock single, "Rock Song" moves with a solid, easy flowing beat, vocals that are crisp and clean, and smooth, bouncy guitar progressions. Showcasing some great harmonies, "Story of My Life," is a wonderful ballad where vocals are sung with sweet sincerity. Originally recorded by Three Dog Night, "Shambala" is a terrific rendition as this group puts their own magical spin to it and yet it keeps its original tonality. If you're a fan of the groups Gin Blossoms or Counting Crows, then don't miss a chance to hear the delectable songs of "Out of the Blue."

RadioIndy is pleased to present Evolve IV with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Decadent Light "

RadioIndy is pleased to present Evolve IV with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Decadent Light "

"Decadent Light" by Evolve iv is a deep, hard-hitting progressive/alternative rock CD. This album doesn't hold back the talent of the guitarists at all. The riffs and chords of the guitars and bass, combined with the laid back but heavy lead vocals, mixed with the cool drum tempos, show musicianship working at its best. The CD covers a range of musical influences from various genres, but fully maintains the essence of solid progressive rock. "Listen Up" will have the listener nodding their head as they mentally try to follow the tricky, melodic guitar and catchy lyrics. Track 7, "Must Have Been The Future" displays the versatility of the lead vocals by having a slight country "twang" blended with hard rock. Among the other tracks, "Voyager" and "Write" are plain examples of the pure talent that this band has. The tracks on this CD can and will have fans of Nirvana, Skynyrd, as well as Coldplay fully satisfied.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Media Line Road with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Sagittarius Passing Through "

RadioIndy is pleased to present Media Line Road with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Sagittarius Passing Through"

Media Line Road mix '60's and '70's-era pop-rock sensibilities with kaleidoscopic flair on their fine new CD, "Sagittarius Passing Through." Recalling classic rock bands such as Pink Floyd ("We're Not From Here"), The Doors ("I've Been Trying"), Moody Blues ("Fly"), and especially, the solo work of George Harrison, the 14-track collection features the kind of echo-y psychedelic effects that defined a lost era of Rock. CD-opener, "Old Belle's Bop," a tremolo-laden pop song with tasty slide licks, boasts more than a hint of George Harrison-like Top 40 charm, while "It's Kinda Creepy Baby" sounds like a demented carnival nightmare (check out the backward guitar overdubs). Re-visiting the Harrison reference, "Prayer" is a spiritual ballad with some excellent interplay between slide and mandolin, and "Good To Have You Back Again" exudes the polished pop of Harrison's work with Jeff Lynne. All told, Media Line Road's "Sagittarius Passing Through" CD is a potent and winning blend of classic and psychedelic rock influences that touches all the right bases.

"Blind Date" by Gregg Koval (Rock Artist from Ontario, Canada)

Gregg Koval and his latest album, "Blind Date," is a CD filled with aggressive, gritty, yet fun-loving Rock songs. "Ransom Note" is a song that kicks in with wailing guitars and a chunky bass line as Koval's vocals enters with sharp flowing tonality. Another song, "Let Yourself Go," is a song that uses a catchy walking blues beat while sweet guitar licks complement the emotive vocals. The track, "Setback," is a good old-fashioned rock ballad in which the hypnotic vocals and well balanced instruments capture a rootsy and melodic ambiance. All-in-all this is an album filled with an energetic collection of straight-up, party-friendly, Rock and Roll. "Threshold" by Sugar Blue (Rock Artist from New York City, New York(NY))

"Threshold" is the latest record from the highly acclaimed recording artist Sugar Blue. It is a record comprised of songs that fuse Rock, Funk, Jazz, and Blues all around Sugar's Grammy-winning harmonica playing and features a cast of highly professional musicians. The track, "Messin' with the kid," is a classic Blues tune with a little bit of exhilaration thrown in and features some gritty and soulful harmonica playing from Sugar. "Noel news" is a funky piece, played with a little bit of Creole influence, that celebrates what Christmas is like down in the crescent city of New Orleans. "Don't call me" is more of a tranquil jazz song in which Sugar lets his harmonica playing be a soulful backup to his vocals as he emotionally croons to the one he loves. This album is one that celebrates and mixes the roots of music that has helped shape the culture in America. Whether you want to dance or be musically inspired, this album will do it for you. And if you love Funky or Bluesy harmonica playing, well then "Threshold" might just be a must for your album collection.

"Illusions of Control" by Aerial View (Rock Artist from California(CA))

The second released album from the talented group Aerial View is "Illusions of Control." It is an album recorded in the Rock styles of the 80's and early 90's. The song, "All You Need," is a throbbing rock song with scathing guitar solos and dynamic vocals. Another song, "Doubt," has catchy lyrics and vocal patterns that are combined with dancing guitar sounds to make for a toe-tapping rock song. With the track "Kapygna," they release their aggressive side on this song that almost sounds like the music of Rush as the tight chemistry of the guitar, bass, and drums runs full throttle with a hard rock style fury. This album is one in which a band successfully harks back to that time when rock was between classic rock and the alternative movement. For those who enjoy the music of Rush, Tool, or similar bands, "Illusions of Control" is an album you will want to check out.
