"Leatherwood" by Lawrence Leatherwood (Rock Artist from Washington(WA))

"Leatherwood" by Lawrence Leatherwood is a neo-soul, funk rock album brought to you by a talented singer/songwriter. The "Seattle Sound" is well represented in this piece of work. The songs are slightly ambient and psychedelic. Lawrence's voice is well-layered and drives the music. The arrangements are creative and have an uncanny uniqueness. You get a nice mix of funk and fuzz guitar with a modern/classic blend. The album also has great continuity. It is definitely one of those CDs you play all the way through. The band is tight and the album is well produced and well mixed. Highlights include "Vision of Love," which features a wicked guitar riff and a driving beat. "It Can Be" features a swaying rhythm and great layering in the arrangement. "Leave It" is perfect for any smoke filled room. If you enjoy Jimi Hendrix and Lenny Kravitz, you'll dig this memorable CD.
