"A Blue Image" by What's Eating Gilbert Grape (Rock Artist from Southwest England)

"A Blue Image" by What's Eating Gilbert Grape is an aggressive alternative rock album with a touch of art rock. The songs feature beautiful melodies, interesting progressions and very good musicianship. The album has a cool vibe about it and the sound is a nice blend of classic alternative and bit of the new. The band is tight and the vocals are hauntingly mesmerizing (think Perry Ferrell). Highlights are "I'm Always," a high energy song with some wicked drumming, big guitar riffs and a cool bass line. "Ten Years" features some cool experimental guitar work, nice melodies and more tight drum work. "Twisted Magnolia" opens with a cool bass line and sitar like guitar, evolving into a beautifully layered and innovative tune. If you enjoy alternative rock or psychedelic flavor, you'll enjoy this CD.
